You know I love avocados. However, my obsession for this fruit does not define my dietary preferences. I like simplicity, variety and home-made. Many of my meals follow the principles of the Perfect Health Diet and many are Paleo. Some are Vegetarian or even Vegan. I experiment with Raw, Traditional and Fermented preparations of food as well as Farm to Table and French techniques. I enjoy shopping at my neighborhood farmer’s market whenever possible for the freshest, tastiest seasonal ingredients and also to support the local green economy. I am fortunate to live steps from a butcher who sells grass-fed meats and pastured poultry from nearby farms and wild-caught seafood from local fishermen. In San Francisco, there are also plenty of health food stores who provide bulk nuts, grains and spices. I dream of one day having enough land and sun to grow my own vegetables and herbs in my backyard. Wherever you happen to be, look around and see what you can find and create in your own city!

I was led to your blog by Paul Jaminet and I love it! I’m also a food blogger (often PHD compliant recipes) and it’s so nice to see ideas from inside someone else’s brain. Can’t wait to take a more thorough look and watch for new posts!

hey hilary! so nice to “meet” you and thanks for checking out my new blog. I look forward to perusing yours too. great to know others who are creating healthy food inspired by PHD, paleo and other movements. I think there are such valuable things to learn from each of these practices and I love playing around with ways to bring them together harmoniously. cheers to good food and hope to catch up with you again soon. samara :)
