You know I love avocados. However, my obsession for this fruit does not define my dietary preferences. I like simplicity, variety and home-made. Many of my meals follow the principles of the Perfect Health Diet and many are Paleo. Some are Vegetarian or even Vegan. I experiment with Raw, Traditional and Fermented preparations of food as well as Farm to Table and French techniques. I enjoy shopping at my neighborhood farmer’s market whenever possible for the freshest, tastiest seasonal ingredients and also to support the local green economy. I am fortunate to live steps from a butcher who sells grass-fed meats and pastured poultry from nearby farms and wild-caught seafood from local fishermen. In San Francisco, there are also plenty of health food stores who provide bulk nuts, grains and spices. I dream of one day having enough land and sun to grow my own vegetables and herbs in my backyard. Wherever you happen to be, look around and see what you can find and create in your own city!
